Kitchen Extract Cleaning

Commercial Kitchen Extract Cleaning

Full canopy, filter, duct, and fan cleaning for commercial kitchens across New Zealand. Compliance-ready reporting with every job.

What Is Kitchen Extract Cleaning?

Every commercial kitchen with a cooking line generates grease-laden air. Your extraction system — the canopy above the stove, the filters, the ductwork running through the ceiling, and the exhaust fan on the roof — captures that grease and vents it outside. Over time, grease and carbon build up inside the system.

That buildup is a serious fire hazard. Grease inside ductwork is essentially fuel waiting for a spark. A kitchen fire that reaches the extraction system can spread through the entire building in minutes. Beyond fire risk, a dirty system reduces airflow, makes your kitchen hotter, and puts you offside with your compliance obligations.

Kitchen extract cleaning strips all of that buildup out. We clean every component from the canopy and baffle filters right through to the fan housing on your roof. The result is a system that works properly, meets compliance standards, and does not put your staff or your building at risk.

Our Process

How We Clean Your Extraction System

Step 1

Initial Assessment

We start with a full inspection of your extraction system. We check the canopy, filters, ductwork, and roof fan to understand the condition and plan the clean.

Step 2

Canopy & Filter Cleaning

The canopy and filters are stripped down and degreased. This is where most of the visible grease buildup sits, and it is the first thing an inspector will look at.

Step 3

Ductwork Cleaning

We work through every section of your ductwork, removing grease and carbon buildup from the inside walls. This is the part most people forget — and where fire risk is highest.

Step 4

Fan & Motor Cleaning

The exhaust fan on your roof gets stripped and cleaned. Grease buildup on the fan reduces airflow and puts extra strain on the motor, driving up your power bill.

Step 5

Before & After Photos

We photograph every section of the system before and after the clean. You get a full visual record for your compliance file.

Step 6

Compliance Report

Once the job is done, you receive a detailed report covering every component we cleaned. This documentation is ready for your BWOF file and any council inspections.
